This time Becca came up with a beautiful set of Seasonal Label Motifs Collection which includes five seasonal dies with so many gorgeous elements that perfectly fit for all the beautiful seasons. I was asked to work with Summer Label Motifs Etched Dies. Summers hmmmm…..Summer is seen as a time of joy and a time for exploring. The weather evokes a sense of positivity in contrast to the punishing cold of winter. We should enjoy our lives while the sun shines, with the knowledge that winter will come around and confine us again to our homes soon enough.
For today’s inspiration, I wanted to create something really bright….bright as sunshine. That’s the reason I kept the colors of my flowers and butterflies bright yellows. For my first card, I created a shaped card using Fluted Classics Ovals Etched Dies and I tried creating a bright day scene by cutting a window using Summer Label Motifs Etched Dies on an oval card base.
The background is simply inked with distress inks and spritzed with water. The sentiment is from Seasonal Motif Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. The added highlights of colors and a little bit of added dimensions to the flowers and butterflies really brought in the real beauty of all the embellishing elements. I really loved the way these cards turned out. So bright and lively.
