Good Evening All !!

Welcome to an intro New Release Blog Hop for Picot Petite Collection by Amazing Paper Grace.

Amazing Paper Grace has gone back to her roots with classic sewing inspired motifs! Introducing the Picot Petite Collection!

Becca Feeken sent over these lovely dies for me to try.

Over time we’ve had lace-inspired designs and have loved the feel of Hemstitching and Candlewicking. Reminiscent of needlework and treasured handwork proudly displayed, Becca Feeken has developed another classic line of layering shapes that feel so much like tatting or picot crochet.  As you might imagine, these shapes are crisp, clean, and timeless. Whether you are simply adding a classic layer to a card or cutting an aperture to highlight a lovely sentiment – these shapes mix and match with other sewing inspired motifs as well as intricate backdrops.

Today you’re in luck! Our Creative Team is sharing makes from the Picot Petite Collection.

Classic Shapes are Timeless

With each Classic Collection, Amazing Paper Grace creates the most popular die-cutting shapes in oval, round, square, and rectangles. Moreover, these classic shapes mix and match with Hemstitch Classics, Candlewick Classics, Elegant Twist Classics, and now Picot Petit.

The Inspiration behind Picot Petite
If you’ve ever seen tatting, the little loop produced along the edge is called a “picot”.  It’s this little loop that is the basis for the border on all of the Petite Picot shapes.  They are lovely as a backdrop for any other layerings as the little picot peeks out.  It’s just a subtle way to bring in the ways of classic needlework to give texture and dimension to the backdrop of our cards.

Each of our Creative Team members will show you their take on cards made with a classic picot flair.

My Projects For Today

First up is a card using S4-1072 Bed Of Lace.

Here is what the dies look like: S4-1072 Bed Of Lace.

As the name says, I tried creating a beautiful bed of lace backdrop for my handmade flowers as a focal image for the card front. I kept the dies on the edge of the paper, sandwiched between cutting plates and ran it through my die cutting machine. Next, I glued a golden die from the back to create a golden shadow.

The beautiful pattern papers used are from the Dress My Craft’s Dream Door Paper Pack which I mixed and matched with Dots and Stipes from the same brand. I truly loved the quality of these papers and the best part is these papers are one sided printed so I m not at all worried about wasting the other design.

I ran out of stock of my Amazing Paper Grace flowers and I tried with a new flower. Oh My Gosh….Cinch and Go Flower 5 is amazing to work with. It created beautiful white daisies. I specially loved the tiniest size of the flower.

The foloige used is from S4-867, Cinch and Flower Die 3. The sentiment is ciut in whites and is from March Die of the Month, Elegant Infinity.

For the second projects I have a gift box to share.

Look at the beautiful satin ribbon double loop bow……Awww, I loved it!!

I have one more simple but an elegant Bed of Lace ornate for the coming festive season. Simply cut and score 8 diecuts, crease them and glue them one on top of other and thread a twine with a bead hanging at the end and you are done!!. How easy…isn’t it?? Try it once, I am sure you will love it.

Designer Tip:  whenever I get a new die in hand, my first thing to start is to first try understanding the die closely, study all it’s rims if it has and cut a few variations and keep them as a sample. I have a huge stock of samples cut and stored in a box. I know these are going to help me in my future projects.

Here is the Spellbinders video showing amazing new samples as well as a walkthrough of the entire collection.

All elements are a feast for the eyes. Oh my, even your blog is a work of art! I do enjoy your makes, especially the flowers you create; they are devine. So glad you mentioned Dress My Craft’s – phenomenal products – I like their golf groove tools. The intricate workmanship of the die and your inspirational design of the ornament are a marriage made in heaven. The box is scrumptious! How could you possibly choose one over the other? Nice tip I will employ. Using the mock-ups to help see a potential design will definitely be helpful.

Every trip to your site is a pleasurable experience. Thank you!
